Challenge

Meta wanted to highlight key fixes from engineers that helped the platform and revenue. The goal was to create a brand design system for the series and then a graphic language that can be consistently used to visualize complex problems and solutions of the fixes so anyone at the company can understand easily.

Result

After finalized brand design system for Fix of the Week was completed. This quickly scaled and was highly celebrated in showcasing more nuance engineering work throughout the company. Fix of the Week are usually always presented by Mark during his live Q&As.

Pre-production leading to a nominated fix is meeting with the engineer to help shape the narrative of the problem, solution, and results of each fix. Oftentimes, visualizing complex ideas into an easily digestible design system that anyone can usually understand, along with the video explanation from the engineer themselves. Fix of the Week has high positive sentiment and is now a permanent reoccurring series that has nominations sent in every week.
